Lion's Mane Steak with Chimichurri

A plant-based alternative to traditional steak, juicy and full of flavor thanks to fresh chimichurri.

Ingredientes

  • 2 large pieces (each piece approx 150g) of fresh lion's mane
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Coarse salt and black pepper
  • For the chimichurri:
  • 1 bunch of fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 50ml of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 pinch of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper

Preparación

  1. 1 Prepare the chimichurri by finely chopping the parsley and garlic.
  2. 2 Mix them with the oil, vinegar, oregano, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. 3 Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat.
  4. 4 Brush the lion's mane pieces with oil and season with salt and pepper.
  5. 5 Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and caramelized.
  6. 6 Serve immediately with the chimichurri on top.

  • Do not move the mushrooms while they are sealing so that they form a crust.
  • Chimichurri improves if it rests for at least 30 minutes before serving.
